This shelter has over 1000 square feet of space under ground.
It will have a separate bedroom off of this main shelter.
It will have a walkway out to an above ground blast door.
There will be a three story house built over this
shelter. The shelter
will be
over 13’ tall inside. |
This shows the shelter as we are getting ready to pour concrete
16” thick around and over the top.
The big hatch you see on top of the shelter at the back
is the elevator shaft.
In the front, you can see the above ground blast door.
The 8’ tall section you see next to the walkway going to
the blast door is a room for storage and also for all his
batteries. |
This is after we have poured the 16” thick walls and top over
the shelter. The 28”
pilings you see will be drilled out about 20’ down below the
bottom of them. They
will be filled with concrete for the foundation for the home. |
This is after we have covered the shelter up.
The elevator shaft is still about 3’ above ground level. |
|
Once they poured the foundation and
concrete slab for the home.
The elevator shaft is now just above the concrete slab.
It has a white cover over it, but you can still see it.
|
This is looking down into the elevator shaft.
You can see the walk thru blast door.
It is made with 1” thick metal.
It has ¼” stainless steel on the inside of that.
It is filled with concrete.
We are putting armored plate in back of that.
The blast walls are ¾” steel filled with concrete.
The elevator will go from this shaft to the top floor of
the house. |
One foot of concrete has been poured inside of this shelter.
They are now putting the rafters up and the sides for the
wood and stucco. |
They are putting the tile down here.
You can see the antique wood ceiling and rafters.
The big room has arch ways all the way around.
The part where you see the silver will have wooden
columns. Looking thru
the door at the end, to the right, is a full bathroom and
walk-in closet. To the
left is the kitchen.
There is a 4’ wide, 20’ long storage area.
It also has a door going to the walkway that goes to the
blast door. This picture
was taken while standing next to the walk thru blast door.
Behind the wall to the left is the elevator shaft.
Behind the wall to the right is a storage area.
There will also be two chemical and biological filtering
systems. Next to that is
a bedroom built off the back of the shelter that has four fold
up beds. This shelter
has two blast doors and 6 blast valves.
It will be self-sufficient. |
